Propagate a plant in 3 easy steps from a cutting + how to propagate a jade plant
Plants are the best for SO many reasons! Not only are they an extremely sustainable and beautiful home decor item, they are also so great for the air you breathe, as they act as a natural air purifier in your home. The great thing is, you don't have to spend a lot of money… or any money for that matter if you propagate a plant!
Propagation is simply growing a plant from a seed or the stem of an existing plant.
Here are the 3 simple steps you need to take to propagate a Jade Plant, or any plant with a node! We are just using a jade plant as an example - but other plants such as Pothos or Fiddle Figs can be propagated using this method as well!
Step 1: Make a cutting in the internode using scissors
Step 2: Remove the leaves from the first node closest to the cutting (this is where roots will form!)
Step 3: Place in water, ideally in a clear jar next to a window or on a window sill - after a few weeks you should see roots!
Once you have your roots - simply add to a pot with basic potting mix/soil 🙂🙂
