Slow fashion is the way of the future - for our planet and those who live here. We've compiled a list of our favourite sustainable brands so you can fill your wardrobe with stunning, timeless and high quality pieces!
1. Bambie and Birdie
Specialty: Pyjamas
About + fabric choice: A canadian company that uses natural, sustainable bamboo. Their pjs are handcrafted in Vancouver, B.C. and have pyjamas for babies, kids, women and men! Even matching christmas ones! It’s all very aesthetic too with pretty colours and patterns.
I own one of their winter rompers!

2. Allbirds
Specialty: Running and walking sneakers
About + fabric choice: They use recycled bottles for their laces, and their shoes are made out of fibers from trees or wool. They work with leading organizations like ZQ Merino to ensure our wool is held to high standards of farming, land management and animal welfare. They use Sugarcane for the base of the shoe. It’s very slow fashion and especially from an intersectional standpoint and humanitarian - these are so much better than nike or adidas. Also, the standard sneaker emits 12.5 kg CO2e whereas their average shoe emits 7.6 kg CO2e.
3. Christy Dawn
Speciality: Timeless dresses
About + fabric choice: they use deadstock fabric and regenerative cotton to make AMAZING timeless dresses. They also make sandals, sweatpants, tee shirts and more. They are also committed to paying their workers and sewers proper living wages.
I own the Dawn Dress (I bought it in small) in the white and baby blue colour.
4. Thawrih
Specialty: activewear
About + fabric choice: One of our partners, Thawrih, makes biker shorts, leggings, shirts, turbans and more out of recycled fishnet fiber collected from the ocean. Their products are TRULY INCLUSIVE, sustainable, High-Quality and handmade by Newcomer Refugees in Canada.
We both own the biker shorts.

Specialty: Bras, underwear and sportswear
About + fabric choice: One of our newer partners, Organic Basics, makes underwear and bras out of organic cotton, which uses less water and no pesticides. Organic basics ALSO does active wear out of recycled materials.

6. Mat+Nat
Specialty: Purses and bags
About + fabric choice: A vegan leather company, all bag liners are made out of recycled bottles. It’s also a Canadian company, so bonus!

7. Flap Happy
Speciality: Swimwear and sun hats for babies and kids
About + fabric choice: Flap Happy has a line of SPF 50 swim wear and sun hats for babies, toddlers and kids made out of recycled plastic! They have so many cute patterns.
Lilah has a hat pink sun hat and a long sleeve swim suit that she wore all summer!

8. Whimsy & Row
Specialty: This is kind of a one stop shop for fashion where they don’t really specialize in one thing, but they have all clothes you need!
About + fabric choice: this is a sustainable fashion company, with all clothes made in downtown LA! In an effort to be completely zero-waste they recycle every scrap of material in their production process. If theu don’t have enough to make an entire piece of clothing, they gather the scraps and turn them into cute things like our bandanas. When all else fails, they hand them off to Marimole, a textile recycling company based in NYC.
9. Ursa Minor
Specialty: Unique tops, pants and dresses
About + fabric choice: this is a clothing company designed in Montreal, Canada! Clothes are made with a range of sustainable fabrics such as linen, organic cottons and renewable, eco-friendly fibres. I would describe these clothes as business casual meets boho. Worth checking out if you want to stand out in your office!
10. Djerf Avenue
Specialty: Effortless every day pieces
About + fabric choice: This brand makes woman’s clothing, mainly effortless every day pieces. All clothes are made ethically and in terms of fabric, all T-shirts and dresses are made out of certified organic cotton. they Worked with a company called Tencel for their summer collection, producing a regenerated fiber which means that it is a blend of cellulose and a biodegradable chemical. Tencel is produced in a circular and lean process which makes it more sustainable than both synthetic and cotton fibers.
11. Vetta
Specialty: capsule wardrobe collections
About + fabric choice: woman’s fashion and They specialize in capsule wardrobe collections but you can also buy by item. They basically suggest 5 pieces to buy, Mix and match five versatile pieces to create a month's worth of outfits- literally 30 outfits. This is so cool. And the clothes are gorgeous. They also use sustainable fabrics and responsible factories
12: Outerknown
Specialty: casual wear
About + fabric choice: This is a men and woman clothing company making everything from swim trunks to jeans to plaid shirts. They definitely specialize in comfort and casual. For fabric, 90% of the fibers theu source are organic, recycled, or regenerated. All of their swim trunks are made with recycled or renewable fibers and they guarantee their clothes. To keep worn or torn S.E.A. JEANS out of the landfill, they'll repair, replace or recycle them.
